In line with our CSR initiatives we took up the initiative to pave the way for a clean environment in Mahalingapuram, Nungambakkam, Chennai.

As is common in most places a secluded place is conveniently used as a dumping yard for garbage. The transformer situated near the office was being used as a dumping yard and BGI took the initiative to keep the environment clean and as community service built the structure around the transformer for safety and cleanliness of its neighbourhood.

The facility put up by BGI around the 11 KVA Transformer located at Sir Madhavan Nair Road, Mahalingapuram was inaugurated by TNEB officials Mr. R. Karthikeyan, Executive Engineer, Mr. K. Veeramuthu, Asst. Executive Engineer and Chairman of BGI Dr. V. Bakthavatsalam, who was the very first Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. Talking on the initiative Mr. B. V. Gautam, Managing Director of BGI said, “any initiative taken by BGI will be sustainable in nature. Our objective is to give back to the society with similar CSR initiatives in the form of infrastructure development in society or training individuals to help them earn a living.”

The local community were also helpful & supportive towards the initiative and participated on the occasion.
